Iris Smeds' work revolves around representation, identity as merchandise and art as entertainment. She works mainly with performance and video, and her projects often deal with the monetary and spiritual value of art. Her new project The Actress is about the links between the theatre and democracy and presents the Actress as a symbol for a modern citizen who has to play her own identity in order to sell it. During PALs Festival she will show her new performance The Actress; The Oracle; The Tragedy.
